Mountain pose is an active pose to improve posture, balance, and promote a calm focus.When done correctly, you will use every muscle in the body without much movement! It works to strengthens the thighs, knees, ankles, abdomen, and buttocks. And with regular practice, it can help reduce back pain.
To perform this pose, follow these steps
:1. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and weight evenly places across the balls and arches of your feet.
2. Lift your toes and spread them apart.
3. Ground your feet firmly into the ground with arms at your sides.
4. Engage the leg muscles.
5. Slightly tuck your tailbone.
6. Gently extend through your torso all the way to the crown of your head.
7. Keep shoulders down and away from the ears.
If this is difficult for you to balance, try to do this pose against a wall or near a chair to steady yourself!
